CLAY MOLD FOR CONCRETE SURFACE
Proposal for the Swiss Pavilion (Venice Architecture Biennale) – December 2015
XtreeE has been working on prototypes for a proposal for the Swiss Pavilion at the Venice Architecture Biennale. These prototypes were the occasion for XtreeE to experiment a new fabrication technique: sprayed concrete. A clay mold was 3D-printed and smoothed to serve as a support and the concrete sprayed on it. The clay was then removed to unmold the obtained surface. Part of the clay mold was left unsmoothed to show the different finishes that can be achieved on the concrete surface.
